Abstract:Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has achieved a significant leap from simple task processing to complex content generation through continu ous iteration and evolution. In today’s digital era, the new generation of AI repre sented by Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) has demonstrated immense advantages in science communication and science education, profoundly transforming their production and dissemination. To address the opportunities and challenges presented by this backdrop, the “Seminar on Science Communication and Science Education in the Era of Strong AI” was held on January 14, 2024, at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). A total of 33 schol ars from prestigious institutions such as USTC, Zhejiang University, Nanjing Uni versity, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and East China Normal University participated in the event through a combination of online and offline means. The seminar revolved around five core topics: AI empowering science education, the construction of a new popular science paradigm in the age of AI, new scientific literacy in the AI era, practice innovation and talent cultivation driven by AI, and ethical considerations and challenges of AI. Furthermore, the event aimed to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, jointly constructing a more harmonious and efficient ecosystem for science communication and science education, thereby contributing to the cultivation of talents with an innovative spirit and a global perspective.
