Abstract:It is essential to run a science education journal well. It not only promotes academic research and educational reform of science education, but also provides a platform for science educators, researchers, and front-line teachers to exchange and learn. In this paper, the journal Science Education, which was founded in 1916 in the United States, was used as the research object, and the literature published from 2014 to 2024 was used as the data sample, and the literature survey method and statistical analysis method were used to conduct the research. In terms of basic characteristics, the journal was analyzed by subject headings, subject coverage, authors, editors, and highly cited literature. In terms of communication methods, the publication cycle, communication area and communication channels of the journal were statistically analyzed. This paper explores the journal Science Education, refines its value orientation, sorts out and analyzes the internal and external factors that can survive more than 100 years of turbulence, reflects the role of the journal in the education sector at that time, and strives to provide ideas and references for the running of science education journals in China.
